AI Photobooth | Team project
2 MCT 2023
For my second year MCT, we worked in groups on a project for our own school, Howest. While most groups worked on assignments for "Sports Innovation," our project was unique because it focused on developing a photo booth with AI integration. This photo booth was intended for use during Howest's open days, sit-ins, and fairs.
The assignment was challenging: we had to create a photo booth that not only took pictures but also automatically edited them using AI algorithms. As the Scrum Master of our team, I coordinated the development and ensured that the project stayed on schedule.
My main responsibility was the development of the application's frontend. I was inspired by kiosk designs like those of McDonald's, focusing on ease of use and attractiveness. I designed the frontend in the recognizable style of Howest.
During the project, we had several testing days to test and improve our concept and the operation of the photo booth. The backend of the application was mainly built in Python and communicated with Azure and our cloud AI application.
The result was a successful photo booth that has already been used at several of Howest's open days. It was a great experience to realize such an innovative project and to see it being used by our fellow students and school visitors.
